How does it work?
Purchase your mock interview
As soon as you place your order, we will begin matching you with a specialist Oxbridge tutor (usually within 1-2 working day if not the same day). We’ll collect a few bits of information such as which college you will be applying to, and whether you are a school-leaver, gap year, mature, graduate or international applicant. Whether you’re applying to Cambridge or to Oxford, we have senior tutors from both institutions to help you!
Meet your tutor
We'll match you to a tutor that is currently studying the same subject in which you have an interview for. If possible, we’ll also attempt to match the college! If dynamic pricing is in operation, you may receive a new quote. For example, if you are applying to study Economics & Management at Oxford, we will match you with a tutor currently studying the same degree. Your tutor will then finalise your tutorial, provide joining instructions and send you any pre-reading material.

Oxbridge Interview Preparation FAQs
Got some questions about our Oxbridge one-to-one coaching? You might just find the answer here. If not, you can always reach out to us and we’ll be happy to help
We cover all subjects from both Oxford and Cambridge University. Please get in touch for more details via live chat, phone, email or WhatsApp.
Coaching is provided by a range of Oxbridge (Oxford or Cambridge) students or alumni from the same subject/discipline. Our team has a diverse range of experience and are experienced in interviewing students. Our tutors are all interviewed, DBS checked and undergo training prior to teaching on any one-to-one session.
If you have a preference, we will aim to find a tutor who has had an interview at your college or has experience with a specific Oxbridge professor.
Absolutely! Whether you require an Oxford Interview Tutor, a Cambridge Interview Tutor, an Oxbridge Tutor with post-graduate or undergraduate training, or an Oxbridge Tutor from a particular college, we will try our best to meet your demands.
Sometimes it takes up to 3 working days for us to assign you one of our best interview tutors (usually the same day), but we appreciate your patience.
During November and early December each year, we see a surge of requests for mock interviews. The demand for subject specific and talented tutors far exceeds supply during this time of the year. Our tutors may charge a higher rate than advertised on our website for sessions during this time period. Our tutors operate as freelancers and set their own pricing due to this period of very high demand. For the remainder of the year, our prices remain fixed. Please contact the team if you would like a non-obligation free quote at any time.

Should you accept a dynamic quote: We will subtract the amount paid already and provide a new invoice for the outstanding balance.
Should you wish not to proceed with the new quote, you are entitled to a full refund of your original payment, no questions asked! All refunds are processed within 5-10 working days.

Each session varies, prior to a session, your tutor will contact you to establish what you’d like to focus on during the session. Our tutors will find out your ideas, concerns and expectations of the session and also take a copy of your personal statement prior to the interview. In a one-hour session, students can typically encounter a traditional interview with an in-depth scrutiny of the personal statement alongside academic questions – detailed feedback is provided orally and in writing.
This varies from student to student – the most common amount of sessions booked in 2022-3 was 2 hours. We recommend starting off with two hours, once you start having one-to-one sessions, you can easily increase the number of sessions by contacting the team at any time should you need more.
Unfortunately, due to the pandemic, we will continue to provide our courses online. We find that it offers multiple advantages including keeping costs down and increasing the accessibility of vet tutors from all across the UK. But come on, you can take this course from the comfort of your home while wearing your favourite pyjamas. If it’s important to you, we can offer a selection of one-to-one courses in person – please contact us for more information.
Mock interviews are unique to your weaknesses and strengths. The below example shows how one of our tutors may structure their session with you, this is open to discussion and is flexible – we use the below as an example only.

- Regular 20 minute mentoring calls
I am also an expert specialist Mathematics tutor, having tutored Mathematics for over 6 years. I have extensive experience in teaching Mathematics of various levels – from GCSEs to Oxbridge admission and BMO training. Many of my students have achieved offers in Oxford and Cambridge, and succeeded in admission tests such as TMUA, MAT and STEP (many of my students achieved 80+ in MAT and at least 1,1 in STEP). I have also tutored A level students whom have went from U to A in 6 weeks of training. I have also received a Jack Petchy reward for my teaching, as I taught a whole GCSE FM course (to other students) whilst still being in Y11 myself. I have taught that course in a few months – when it’s meant to take a year – and my students have achieved top grades. Other students of mine have also went from Bronze to Gold in the UKMT SMC and received Distinctions in the British Maths Olympiad. I am currently in charge of training 10 students for Oxbridge interviews and have recently trained 10 students for MAT and TMUA, all of whom received interview invitations as a result of their performance.
I have developed the best way to train for Oxbridge admissions in particular – a highly comprehensive course which aims to teach all the tricks necessary in the required topics. As someone who self-taught everything (as outlined below), I have developed a great set of resources for Oxbridge admissions. I have went through all the past papers for TMUA, MAT, STEP, interview questions, etc. and made a course which teaches all the tricks by topic (which no other tutor does), to make sure the students are well-prepared and have a strong problem-solving and knowledge component. For each topic in my Oxbridge interview course, I have also created a problem sheet with 40+ questions – most of which were past Oxford and Cambridge interview questions, and quite a few which are original questions designed by myself. These problem sheets also come with a solutions manual, so the student can work through these sheets and learn from my solutions and pick up the tricks and problem-solving strategies, so that in the real interview, the student will have seen most of the types of possible questions and will not be surprised. No other tutor does this. Most tutors simply provide mock interviews, which can improve your interview skills, but not make sure you have seen hundreds of past interview questions and learnt all the necessary tricks. In my course, I also include several mock interviews with personalised feedback (typed up in LaTeX) and regular 20m mentoring calls to address any concerns they have.
As for my own achievements, as mentioned above, I self-taught A level Maths and Further Maths and did them early (year 11 and 12 respectively). I also did chemistry and physics in year 13 and achieved 4A* total at A level. I succeeded in every admission test I sat – TMUA, MAT, STEP 2/STEP 3. I have also achieved Golds in many Maths challenges and Olympiads, Physics and Chemistry challenges and in the British Physics Olympiad and the UK Chemistry Olympiad. As a result of my performance in the British Physics Olympiad (Top 100 in the UK), I was invited into the British Astrophysics and Astronomy Olympiad.

Check out how Alistair, one of our tutors structures his sessions:
Hello, I’m Al, a third-year medical student at the prestigious University of Cambridge. My passion for global health, health access, and international development has driven me to excel in various clinical and non-clinical settings. As a driven and adaptable individual, I am excited to share my knowledge and experience to help aspiring medical students succeed in their interviews.
In terms of the structure for my mock interviews, I have tailored them to the same as how I was interviewed for my place.
- The first section of the interview will be based on the student’s personal statement (which they will have submitted to me ahead of time), asking them questions about their experiences and dig a little deeper into what they have written. I feel this is a good way of assessing a candidate’s suitability for medicine, and eases them into more difficult questioning – as most of the content is familiar. This can last anywhere from 20 to 30 minutes.
- Then, I move onto the more academically-focused part of the interview. This uses a specially designed series of questions to test the student’s ability to think on the spot, and handle new information. It covers both preclinical and clinical content. This will usually take between 20 and 30 minutes.
- Finally, I provide feedback to the student on their performance, give them my top tips, and let them ask any questions they may have about the interviews.

Check out how Harry, one of our senior tutors structures his sessions:
My sessions are designed to maximise your preparation efficiency. I kick off with a pre-session checklist to ensure all details are squared away.
The first session is divided into two key parts:
- General Competency, Experience-based Aptitude, and Motivation: Explore your overall readiness and motivation for pursuing law at Cambridge.
- Technical Questions and Problem-solving: Dive into the nitty-gritty of legal concepts, allowing you to tackle any technical challenges that may arise during your interview.
The second session is a tailored mock interview with constructive feedback. The structure may vary based on the nuances of the specific college invitation, considering differences in emphasis on reading, writing tasks, or other elements.

Check out how Phillips, one of our senior tutors structures her sessions:
I specialise in conducting mock interviews for The NCS, Harris Westminster Sixthform, and Oxbridge Admissions. The interviews are designed to be a ‘journey of learning,’ resembling mini-tutorials. I focus on both the technical and critcal thinking aspects, guiding students through open yet bounded questions to enhance their reflective learning experience.
• The mock interviews typically start with a fairly open but bounded question. This gives the student the opportunity to take the discussion where they want to while staying to a specific topic. That said, there is also a flexible structure to the interview in the sense that while challenging the students on whatever they’ve said, I’ll guide them to particular areas and arrive at a particular problem which they need to solve.
• It is meant to be a ‘journey of learning’ because I aim to have them reflect how a tutorial goes because the interviews are pretty much mini tutorials.
In terms of content, I either go with a focus on the maths and technical aspect of problems or the critical thinking and discussion based ones because I think that’s largely the two different ways the real interviews will go.

Check out how Imogen, one of our senior tutors structures her sessions:
I structure my mock interview sessions to precisely emulate the Oxford/Cambridge interview format, ensuring students are fully prepared for what to expect.
- This includes providing students with an unseen piece of poetry or prose 20-30 minutes before the interview, initiating discussions around the material.
- Drawing from my own experiences and insights gained during my time at Oxford, I craft questions tailored to what Oxbridge tutors seek in applicants.
- Post-interview, I offer detailed feedback, explaining the rationale behind questions and providing insights into what tutors look for in successful candidates.
- Anecdotal advice based on personal interview experiences is also available upon request.”
